Car insurance tips for young drivers
Zurich Connect appreciates that you could be penalised because of your age and inexperience. But there are ways that you can control that:
- Young drivers may be tempted to pick the cheapest and most basic insurance option - usually Third Party, Fire and Theft. However, sometimes this might not work out in your favour as you – the driver – could end up having to pay for the damage to your own car yourself
- One way to make sure you get lower premiums is to be careful in your choice of car. If you pick something sporty then yes, you can expect to pay more – sometimes a lot more. Stick with smaller-engined cars, like a 1.1 or a 1.2 litre, and you’ll be much better off
- Increase your voluntary excess
With its wide range of extensive benefits, Zurich Connect could really help you out:
- A complimentary courtesy car as standard following an accident while your car is being repaired by one of our approved repairers
- Full replacement of your manufacturer’s fitted audio-visual equipment if it gets stolen
- Up to £250 if your personal belongings are stolen from your car
- Up to £500 to cover lost or stolen keys and any damage to your car’s locks
- £100,000 of legal expenses cover following an accident which wasn’t your fault
- Free cover while driving in Europe for up to 60 days
